Restless Legs Syndrome and Your Patients

Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) is a neurologic movement disorder characterized by an irresistible urge to move the legs, especially during periods of rest or inactivity. The urge to move or discomfort is usually temporarily or partially relieved by movement but recurs again with rest. Restless Legs Syndrome is often associated with sleep disruption and difficulty falling asleep. Because patients often first complain of sleep problems, the syndrome is often underdiagnosed.
